Goals of the municipal nursery are to: provide training in nursery techniques and micro gardening to unemployed youth and women in the neighbourhood, render the neighbourhood/city more aesthetically pleasing, and grow plants with which to green the city, thereby increasing air quality and providing sound and heat control.

At the beginning of January the nursery received a water pump, a container (to house the administration and materials for the nursery), and plants to be used as windbreakers, reinforce the fence, and of course beautify!

Next came preparing the compost… followed by planting! We started planting in early February, just in time for the arrival of the new intern.
